Why should you donate?
The DATC contributes to the community.
We perform in many areas of our great city – Midtown, North End, Jefferson/Chalmers, Palmer Park, Campus Martius, Beacon Park, and Cadillac Square.
We connect with our friends and neighbors in the nonprofit world through our Create 4 Action initiative. Past partnerships include Alternatives For Girls, Detroit Dog Rescue, Freedom House, and Keep Growing Detroit.
The DATC is committed to diversity in its casting, audiences, crew, and creative teams.
Our company welcomes all ethnicities, creeds, gender identities, sexual orientation, and abilities
The DATC performs works dedicated to social justice.
We consistently perform works exploring diversity, women’s rights, socioeconomic divides, animal rights, racial divides, and LGBTQ+ rights.
The DATC is inclusive, embracing members of all experience, ages and talent levels.
We help our company members hone their craft, welcoming all who wish to join us. Our company is like a family – we support them and help them grow.
The DATC brings social profit to the communities it serves.
We enhance the community by bringing art to its people. We do this by hosting post show talkbacks as well as varying ticket prices; in some cases presenting large scale shows FREE of charge, keeping the art accessible.
Value in our work extends beyond the artistic impact we make on our audience. By activating spaces otherwise abandoned, by engaging with entire communities that lack in programming, and by telling the stories of the communities we perform in; we not only start the conversation, but we help to keep it going!
