Announces auditions for 

Lanie Robertson's  

The time is 1959. The place is a seedy bar in Philadelphia. The audience is about to witness one of Billie Holiday’s last performances, given four months before her death. More than a dozen musical numbers are interlaced with salty, often humorous reminiscences to project a riveting portrait of the lady and her music.

What to prepare:

Jimmy Powers should prepare two selections from the show and be available for callbacks. A piano will be provided on site. Artists should be prepared to provide a resume of relevant work supporting their proficiency. 

Lady Day (Billy Holiday) candidates should prepare two contrasting monologues, 1-2 minutes in length. One comedic and one dramatic. Artists are also asked to prepare one song from the show and be prepared to sing it in the style of Billy Holiday. An accompanist will be provided for you.

We at the DATC support equal pay, especially in the case of this piece. The two artists portraying Jimmy Powers and Lady Day will receive the same stipend in the amount of $750.
